Newton CVR640 digital video recorder
This unique product has been designed for use with all digital night vision systems.
The Newton CVR640 has an integral Weaver mount that fits on to a Weaver/Picatinny rail, such as fitted to the side of the Pulsar Digisight night vision scope, and Pulsar Recon 550 and X550. A small Weaver rail with tripod screw is also included with the CVR640, enabling it to be fitted to night vision systems with tripod fittings, such as the Newton Hornet and Yukon Ranger digital night vision systems.
The CVR640 is extremely lightweight, compact, and easy to use. The two operating buttons are Power On-Off and Record Start-Stop. Two small status lights indicate unit on, unit recording, and error light, indicating loss of signal/low power/full memory card. Manual, driver, file manager, and date/time software are provided on the supplied SD card.
The Video-In accepts an analogue video stream, which is converted it to a 600x800 pixel digital video that is recorded to a removable SD card. The Newton CVR640 has an option to add a date and time stamp to the video recording, useful for security, surveillance, wildlife observation, and record keeping.
This superb product is manufactured in Europe by Yukon Advanced Optics, and carries a 1 year manufacture warranty, only available through an authorised Yukon Optics New Zealand dealer.

Using the CVR640 software
Full instructions can be found in a PDF file contained on the SD card. These instructions relate to setting the date and time only.

1. All the software for the CVR640 is in a folder contained on the supplied SD card, that is best accessed using a card reader on a PC.

2. Open the CVR640 folder.

3. Double click the CVR640 Date-time setup to open date and time software program. This will automatically set the date and time using the clock on your computer. You can also disable date-time stamping, and select the video system with this software. Press OK to finish.

4. The time file is automatically placed in the CVR640software folder. To become operative, the time file must be moved to the main directory on the SD card.

This is how the SD card directory should look for the time and date settings to work, or to be disabled. |
